Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I have always had a passion for the outdoors. I grew up riding four-wheelers, building forts, and catching frogs all within my backyard. After high school, I stayed close to home getting an undergraduate degree from Michigan Technological University in applied ecology and environmental science. The coursework at MTU is focused on outdoor learning, and one of my favorite experiences was sampling data from an old growth forest at the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. After graduation, I wanted to keep working outside with nature and found myself doing residential landscape installation for a small local business in Saline, MI. Being in this environment for a year, I grew an interest in landscape design and applied to the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Michigan. Fast forward to today, I am halfway through completing that degree with the University of Michigan and developed a passion for community oriented and ecological design. In my career I hope to empower underserved communities while creating a sustainable future for our planet.
